Navigating the U.S. Election Through Spirit and Stars

I wish I were the kind of person who could have written a coherent, inspiring message the day after the U.S. election. But it’s been a complex and emotional time for me, as I’m sure it has been for many of you.

For decades as an intuitive astrologer, I’ve tried to remain non-political to support all of you, regardless of your views. Still, my personal liberal leanings have occasionally shown through—and they will here.

This message is primarily for those who felt shocked and disheartened by the election results.

That Wednesday morning, I woke up numb with pain and sadness. Like many of you, it took days to begin recovering. It required every ounce of my spiritual toolkit—deep breathing, yoga, philosophical reflection, and grounding practices. I avoided the news and even my favorite political comedy shows, finding them too raw and “too soon.” I couldn’t handle the finger-pointing and quick post-mortems.

For a moment, I was even drawn to conspiracy theories. There was a vague hope in TikTok psychics confidently declaring that voting machines were manipulated and Kamala would ultimately be sworn in. Sound familiar?

Astrology, Intuition, and the Challenges of Prediction

Many psychics, astrologers, and political analysts predicted Kamala would win. Some foresaw a tight race; others predicted a landslide. I’m not an expert in mundane astrology, the branch focused on world events, but I’ve always found its techniques—like analyzing country charts or the Aries Ingress—fascinating.

At an OPA election panel, astrologers offered diverse views. One vibrational astrologer predicted Trump’s victory while noting significant positives in Kamala’s chart. Others leaned toward Kamala but emphasized how close it was.

Astrologer Steven Forrest often reminds us that predicting elections isn’t the best use of astrology. And he’s right—astrology, like polling, has yet to show consistent accuracy in elections. Still, the curiosity to test techniques can be hard to resist.

My own intuitive sense earlier this year correctly predicted Biden stepping down and a woman candidate emerging. I assumed women voters would rally behind her. Never did I imagine so many women choosing not to vote for her—or not voting at all—despite what’s at stake for women’s rights.

When examining the candidates’ charts, I found mixed indicators. Kamala had Saturn transiting her career house, symbolizing accomplishment after years of hard work, but retrograde—suggesting delays or reviews before forward movement. Trump had Jupiter conjunct his North Node and Uranus, highlighting radical change and a fateful moment, but again, retrograde. In both cases, something was unfinished or unclear.

Astrology is nuanced: each planet, sign, and house holds a spectrum of meanings, from shadow to evolved expression. Predictions are influenced by the astrologer’s biases, and I’ll admit—some part of me couldn’t imagine Trump winning again.

The Bigger Picture: Pluto in Aquarius

Astrologers often look to overarching cycles for context. Pluto in Aquarius (2023–2044) signals a transformative period for humanity. Aquarius governs technology, progress, freedom, and equality but also carries a shadow of authoritarianism, rigid ideals, and dissociation.

I believed Kamala’s leadership would align with Aquarius’s positive potentials, guiding us toward progress. My optimism likely clouded my interpretation. While I believe in free will on a personal level, the collective free will of humanity is far harder to predict.

This election seems to mark a collective choice to confront Aquarius’s shadow—the misuse of technology for manipulation, the exposure of corruption, and the challenges of balancing freedom with responsibility.

Finding Ground and Purpose

So here we are, in a country where the current trajectory feels like a step backward for social progress. It’s painful and disheartening. Yet, the spiritual assignment is clear: to stay grounded, open our hearts, and embody love in every choice.

With Jupiter in Gemini, we’re called to expand our minds and seek understanding, even of opposing perspectives. Saturn and Neptune in Pisces remind us to surrender, trust, and stay disciplined in our spiritual practices.

This election is a stark reminder to cherish life’s joys, care for ourselves and our communities, and stay connected. Many of you have shared how hard it is to engage with the news right now. That’s okay—it’s about finding a balance between protecting your well-being and staying informed enough to resist policies rooted in hate.

The Path Forward

The old world is crumbling, and it’s painful to witness. Yet, each of us has a role to play in building a new world. Know your role. Hold a vision of peace, equality, and love. Embrace every opportunity to connect, support, and create.

This transformation will take far longer than an election cycle or even our lifetimes. But step by step, heart by heart, we are reshaping this earth’s operating system.

We understand the assignment. Let’s rise to it together.
