As the New Moon in Virgo graces the sky with its delicate crescent, I find myself nestled in the red rocks of Sedona—a place of healing and renewal that I hold dear. The vortex energy here is a perfect recharge, blending work and rest as I care for a special orange kitty (a true Virgo task!) and catch up on lecture prep, all while determined to make progress on my next book. Of course, a captivating novel is also calling me to relax in the shade, letting the warm breeze soothe away any lingering stress.
The cycles of life ebb and flow, and the Virgo New Moon is a reminder to get organized, solve problems, and offer our skills in service to others. This time of year always sparks nostalgia for me—cooler evenings and crimson leaves from my Canadian homeland. I can almost smell the fresh binders and notebooks, pencils, and erasers. Do today’s students still get that thrill, or is it the excitement of opening a new iPad now?
Mark your calendars for September 17th, when we’ll experience the first eclipse of the season—a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces. Eclipses give us a cosmic nudge, moving us forward with more intensity than a typical Full or New Moon. Wherever this eclipse falls in your chart, it invites soul-centered shifts. The Pisces and Virgo influence together in a Full Moon Eclipse encourages us to be of service on every level—from mystical and meditative to practical and devotional. Release any feelings of overwhelm and take action!
Also noteworthy: On September 1st, transformative Pluto retrograded back into Capricorn for one last sweep, urging us to ensure we’ve cleared out any lingering shadow material that may hinder our soul’s mission. On the same day, Uranus stationed retrograde, prompting a review of our authenticity and freedom. It’s an interesting cosmic puzzle—working hard to achieve our goals while staying true to our liberated, free-thinking selves.
Expansive Jupiter in curious Gemini is activating our desire to synthesize knowledge and make meaning out of it all. Are we living in alignment with Truth? As this is a Jupiter return for me, I’m fully immersed in teaching, as you’ll see from the many offerings below.
For professional astrologers and senior students, there’s a wealth of options this fall: retreats, mentoring groups, and lots of new material lectures. I’m diving deep into the meaning of Neptune and Saturn moving from Pisces to Aries next year, as those are my two most abundant signs.
