A New Moon is blossoming in the sign of Gemini, weaving together the energies of imaginal Neptune with asteroids Juno and Ceres.
This new beginning dance invites us to explore the dynamics of our relationships, inviting lively conversations and a deeper process dive into our needs for soul connection and nourishment.
The New Moon will be exact on Saturday, June 17 @ 9:17 pm Pacific at 27 degrees of Gemini, so it will affect you strongly if you have planets in late degrees of mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces — or even early cardinals — Cancer, Libra, Capricorn and Aries). Okay, I know that’s a lot of territory! You won’t likely miss the energetics of this new start launch.
Joined with Juno, the asteroid associated with committed partnerships, this lunar launch union encourages us to reaffirm commitments, strengthen bonds, and deepen our understanding of one another's needs. Have you been feeling this already? I have. Just with Sun, Moon and Mercury all in Gemini in the last days and hours, my mind has been assessing choices and priorities.
However, this New Moon energy also carries a cosmic gift and challenge. It is in a stressful aspect (square) with Neptune, the planet of high love, compassion and soul centered connection. If we find a way to blend creatively the Moon’s endless curiosity with our true soul centered aspirations, in relationship and in life, we will be fine—we communicate love or expand inner knowledge. However, whenever Neptune is involved we face the possibility of illusions and delusions, rose colored glasses supreme. We will need to approach life choices and relationships with the Virgo medicine of discernment during the next few weeks.
The New Moon is also in a challenging connection to the asteroid Ceres, which brings the theme of nurturing into the mix. Ceres suggests the importance of self-care and skillful extension of nourishment to others. Many of us have been feeling burned out lately, pulled in many directions, stressed by the shock waves of a world in transition. Ceres asks us to examine our personal nurturing needs and ensure that what we give to others comes from a filled-up place, a wholeness, so we can care for our beloveds from a heart space of authenticity and love.
To add to the relationship theme, Mars and Venus are traveling together in the romantic, expressive sign of Leo. While Venus attracts relationship and Mars simply goes for it, the Leo theme will stay with us until October because Venus will do a retrograde dance starting July 22nd. We will review our needs through this reflection throughout the next few months, amplified by Saturn’s review of the way we approach spirituality and soul love to build something that stands the test of time.
To sum up:
Cultivate clear communication with friends and beloveds, remembering to be flexible and open-minded.
Open your heart but use wise discernment, a blend of Pisces and Virgo energy, with a dash of the current Saturn in Pisces suggesting a disciplined spiritual or nature practice.
Review and prioritize self-care. Renew your commitment to nourishing friendships, take the time to cook nutritional, delicious foods, and see your healers.
This New Moon potentially launches a summer of love and a period of learning and curiosity for you personally—I’m not making any promises about the world events and those who react in fear and anger. If we use this New Moon wisely, we will deepen our capacity in all relationships.
